BASIC FEATURES
basic features for the parent
My achy breaky back: Most parents searching for an all-terrain stroller rarely consider their own comfort until after the stroller is purchased. For many tall parents there is always the risk that the stroller they purchase will end up giving them lower back pains as a result of extended hunching over the handles. What's more, taller people tend to have a longer stride and may find themselves kicking the stroller frame. Most all-terrain strollers tend to be designed with less "kickable" frames and height adjustable handles, but for the tall parents out there: make sure you can walk comfortably without hunching or kicking when pushing the stroller.
Everything but the kitchen sink: When it comes to all-terrain strollers you should look for a decent under-seat basket that can carry a standard-sized diaper bag and hopefully a place for your keys and cell phone near the handle bar(s). Also, try to find a model that allows access to the under seat basket even when the seat is reclined.
The shiny happy stroller pusher checklist:
- Look for good storage space
- Uncomfortable handles for your wrists & hands: Don't buy it!
- You're hunched over the stroller: Don't buy it!
- The stroller frame intrudes on your natural stride: Don't buy it!
