Baby Trend Expedition

COMFORT TOTAL GRADE: B

seating
positive reviews
A-

Even parents who hated their Expedition jogging strollers were forced to concede that their children loved the comfy seating and oversized footrest provided. That said, there were a small percentage of complaints about the zippered recline mechanism being awkward to adjust without waking the sleepy little passenger.

driver comfort
positive reviews
B

As a jogging stroller, the comfort of the driver is paramount and although 85 % of parents were quite comfortable pushing the Expedition, the of negative reports are as follows: 1) one mother reported such difficulty pushing the Expedition she eventually ended up with blisters on her hands from pushing against the left-veering tendency of her stroller, 2) two parents felt the stroller was heavy to push when running and especially up hills, and 3) several parents acknowledged that the parent console cupholders were far too shallow to effectively hold anything. Furthermore, one mom reported that her full water bottle flew out of the cupholder and hit her child on the head. The take home message: don't use the parent-console-cupholders on the Expedition, they're just for decoration.

smoothness of ride
positive reviews
A-

Although the Expedition lacks any rear suspension, a majority of parents gave fully positive reports about its ability to effectively and smoothly handle gravel, grass, busted sidewalks, snow, and the like. One parent complained they were completely unable to steer their Expedition through the sand without first removing their child from the seat. On the other hand, there was another parent raving about how easily the Expedition glided over the sand. Maybe the question is whether the sand was wet and firm or dry and soft... either way it's apparently a hit or miss situation when it comes to being on the beach with this jogging stroller.

weather protection
positive reviews
C

The Expedition's sun protection is very average with it's overhead canopy which provides only a minimal of protection from overhead sunlight. This was indeed one of the most common complaints against this jogger-- from parents who hated or loved the stroller. Admittedly, parent's did appreciate the easy-to-access peekaboo window provided on the canopy.
