seating
positive reviewsD
Here's the category that really screws it up for the Chicco C5. Without a doubt the main reason not to purchase this stroller is the flimsy seating. A large and loudly dissatisfied percentage of reviewers were aghast at how quickly the non-existent yet cardboard-y back support bent out of shape, poking their children in the back, with further reports of toddlers looking doubled over and miserable. It's no surprise the weight limit is as low as 37 pounds!
Additionally, the seat recline, though not so universally hated, was reported to be quite awkward to use without waking a sleeping child.
driver comfort
positive reviewsA-
Despite the disgruntled parents who reviewed the C5's seating very negatively, they were also fair enough to appreciate the high handles on the Chicco C5, which is a welcome change for many taller parents who've previously experienced the joys of back ache from hunching over lower-handled strollers.
smoothness of ride
positive reviewsA
As an umbrella stroller, the Chicco C5 is best appreciated indoors, on smooth sidewalks, and in areas generally engineered by humans flat enough to handle small 5.5'' plastic wheels. That said, parents had no complaints against the C5's basic-umbrella- stroller ride.
weather protection
positive reviewsB+
The sun canopy on the Chicco C5 is less-than-perfect as it provides only partial protection from the sun, but it's rare to find an umbrella stroller with a big enough hood. To their credit, Chicco did include a rain cover, although unfortunately, it appears they didn't make it quite big enough to effectively protect those little meaty toddler legs from the rain.
