COMFORT TOTAL GRADE: B
seating
positive reviewsB
Most parents were fully satisfied with the comfort afforded their little ones when seated in the London Umbrella stroller, although there was a notable (although smaller) number of parents who complained that the seat was a bit shallow for their average to petite sized toddlers. Additionally, the five-position recline received rather mixed reviews, as some parents found it did or didn't recline far enough for their child to comfortably sleep.
driver comfort
positive reviewsB+
With high ergonomically molded handle bars, the London Umbrella Stroller provides an ache-free psuhing experience for taller parents. The only negative note for driver comfort: several reviewers expressed a desire for some sort of parent console to hold their keys/drinks/phones etc.
smoothness of ride
positive reviewsB
As umbrella strollers go, the London Umbrella is above average but not outstanding from the collective parental reports. With treaded but plastic tires, this umbrella stroller can effectively handle only the smoother surfaces without unduly jostling your child.
weather protection
positive reviewsC+
Although we're sure that Chicco had the best intentions with it's wonderful adjustable sun canopy and included rain canopy, what resulted received a surprising number of complaints. Some parents found the adjustable and removable sun canopy with a viewing window quite effective, while others experienced nothing but trouble with it (including a pre-bent canopy frame when assembled for the first time). Additionally, Chicco was forced to recall the hood on the earlier model as the clips tended to fall off, rendering the hood useless.
