COMFORT TOTAL GRADE: A-
seating
positive reviewsA-
The important stuff first. Will your child be comfortable in the Tuscany? Yes, as long as they don't weigh over 37 lbs or tend to be longer and lankier than most "average-sized" children. How comfortable? Well, there is a five-position recline (although it's best adjusted when the child isn't IN the stroller) and extendable/adjustable leg rests, and the material is fairly cushy. As far as sleeping goes, your child is set. Now, the Tuscany IS lacking a kid's tray (some parents like the added security it offers) and some parents wish the seat recline further down as it isn't absolutely flat at its lowest setting.
driver comfort
positive reviewsA
The handles are high enough for tall people!!! It's not a Maclaren, but Chicco has figured it out: there are tall people in the world and tall handles = no back pain. The other nice parent perk: the peekaboo window on the canopy allows for easy viewing of your little passenger, just in case. The single complaint against the stroller in terms of parents: no cupholder. But Prince Lionheart has one out that seems to do just fine for many of the Cafe Latte junkies out there.
smoothness of ride
positive reviewsA+
For an umbrella stroller in this price bracket, the Tuscany is at the top of the Smooth Ride ladder: whether handling cracked sidewalks, gravel, or the cobblestones of Scotland, the Chicco Tuscany seems to be the unequivocal champ of lightweight smooth strolling on a budget.
weather protection
positive reviewsB+
The sun canopy is less-than-perfect as it provides only partial protection from the sun. On the other hand, all the parents did appreciate the included rain canopy and it's ability to keep their little passengers dry and snuggly in a rain storm.
