STANDARD DOUBLE STROLLERS

SAFETY TIPS
stroller safety tips

The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) offers the following general stroller safety guidelines:

  1. Always secure the baby by using the stroller's safety harness.
  2. Choose a stroller with a base wide enough to prevent tipping, even if your child reaches or leans over the side.
  3. If the stroller seat reclines, be sure the stroller won't tip backward when your child lies down.
  4. To prevent the stroller from tipping over backwards, don't hang anything over the handles.
  5. Make sure your stroller is designed with locking device that prevents the stroller from spontaneous folding.
  6. Apply the brakes to limit rotation of the wheels when the stroller is stationary.
  7. When you fold or unfold the stroller, make sure that your child's hands are kept away from areas that could pinch their tiny fingers.
  8. Look for strollers sold with the JPMA Certification Seal.
