STANDARD DOUBLE STROLLERS

BASIC FEATURES
basic features for the passenger

Sleepy angels: Depending on the double stroller model, reclining seat options vary. In most tandem strollers only the back seat can recline, whereas a side-by-side typically allows both seats to recline (much better for parents of twins), and most do so independently. There are a variety of recline mechanisms (from zippers to hooks) found on modern double strollers-some of which adjust less intrusively to a sleeping child than others. If you have a newborn make sure there's proper head and neck support available.

One smooth ride:Although lower end double strollers that lack suspension can't handle much more than mall linoleum, many manufactures make double strollers that sport decent suspension and larger wheels. That said if you take any standard (not all-terrain) double stroller off-road, your children are in for more bumps and shakings than even the best double stroller can absorb.

Whether the weather: Tandem double strollers tend to lose out in terms of sun protection as the spatial restrictions of the front seat prevent it from as much sun coverage as the back seat. That said, you shouldn't settle for anything less than a full coverage canopy as your children's delicate skin and eyes need to be protected from direct sunlight. In terms of additional weather protection, there are also a growing number of standard strollers with attachable rain-covers, some of which also include a snuggly winter boot. We also recommend looking for one of those peek-a-boo (peace of mind) windows inset on the canopy.
