DOUBLE UMBRELLA STROLLERS

SAFETY TIPS
desperately seeking durability

A double umbrella stroller is one of those baby items you will use nearly every day and as such, should be durable over time, especially if you don't want to waste your money on a flimsy and potentially unsafe product. The broad range of umbrella strollers out there runs the gamut: from pathetically flimsy to surprisingly solid. Still, when treated improperly, even the best umbrella strollers can and will break down. One of the surest methods to wear down even the best double umbrella stroller is to use it in conditions it isn't designed to endure. Most double umbrella strollers can only handle smooth dry surfaces and even the sturdiest ones aren't designed for much more than a bumpy sidewalk.

The second quickest way to destroy any stroller is to mistreat it when it's collapsed by tossing it heedlessly into wherever it is you store it and/or throwing heavy objects on top of it. Throwing a double umbrella stroller around is one of the surest ways to start breaking off the small components on the frame.

Eliminating the flimsy models from your search:

  1. No manufacturer's warranty? Don't buy it.
  2. Loose pieces? Wobbly parts? Don't buy it.
  3. Any repeat reports of breakdown? Don't buy it.
  4. Most anything under $50 is going to last about a year maximum.

Admittedly, you can't resolve all of these issues by simply reading the manufacturer's description, but here at baby-gaga we report even the tiniest failure of stroller integrity.
