DOUBLE UMBRELLA STROLLERS

SAFETY TIPS
make it maneuverable!

In terms of steering, many double umbrella strollers feature varied wheel-lock designs for straight or winding paths. Double umbrella strollers are designed with front swivel wheels for ease of turning and a tighter cornering radius. Some umbrella strollers feature front wheels that can be locked into position via individual or joint-foot levers, which when locked, allow for easy straight steering.

The ease of activating the brake locking-mechanism varies quite extensively per model, with some strollers requiring a simple press of a foot lever at the back of the stroller, while others have small individual wheel locks, which can be easier to activate by hand (a nuisance-factor to keep in mind).

Maneuverability comes from having:

  • oversized dual wheels (at least four in back) that don't wear down/eat gravel too easily
  • some form of all-wheel suspension
  • an ergonomically designed handle or set of handles
  • front swivel/locking wheels
  • a frame that can handle weight shifts without swerving or veering
