CONVENIENCE TOTAL GRADE: B+
weight
positive reviewsA+
Whether the newest model from 2005 or an older one, the respective 19 or 17 pounds of weight on the Global Buggy consistently received positive reviews in terms of overall weight.
folding
positive reviewsB+
The folding process takes a little time to get used to as many of the reviewers will attest to, but once learned most felt it was a real piece of cake. The one truly negative point against the Global Buggy: several parents experienced problems handling the canopy issues when folding down and had problems with it tangling up the entire folding down process.
cleaning
positive reviewsA-
Although parents were unanimously appreciative of the fact that the fabric lining the seat and the car seat can be removed for machine washing, one mother felt that the fabric was quite difficult to remove for cleaning.
storage options
positive reviewsB-
Good news first: almost all parents felt that the under-seat basket was plenty ample. The bad news: when you have the seat fully reclined, Maclaren has fallen prey to the most obvious engineering problem: you can't reach anything in the basket at all.
As ever, many parents want a cupholder with their stroller and the lack of one on the Global Buggy was a common complaint for parents. In consideration of the parents, there is a small parent pocket on the hood, which many parents appreciated as a place to put their keys, cell phones, and whatnot, although one parent noted that anything actually placed in the pocket prevented the hood from fully extending. Finally, in the 2005 models, there is a small bottle holder on the frame, which should hush most of the parents that would otherwise be complaining for a cupholder.
