Maclaren Mac 3

CHILD SAFETY TOTAL GRADE: C

harness system
positive reviews
B

The five point harness system on the Mac received rather mixed reviews from parents with approximately half feeling that the straps were secure and comfortable for their child-- even newborns. The other half of reviews complained about the cheap hard nylon and the inability to tighten it around their larger child.

Although a number of parents loved how easily the Mac handled, there were significant amounts of complaining regarding: the lack of a runaway tether (although it isn't really a jogging stroller), difficulty getting the wide-set rear wheels through doors, the tendancy to pull in one direction or another, and many complaints about the wheels angled inward which wears the pneumatic tires down very rapidly.

sturdiness
positive reviews
D

A small number of reviewers had no complaints against the Mac and even felt that it was sturdy, but approximately 75% of parents experienced some malfunction or breakdown in the Mac within less than a year of purchasing, and several reported problems within weeks of first owning this stroller. Complaints included: multiple incidences of screws loosening/falling out, multiple reports of wheels clicking, multiple reports of tires wearing out, sun visor breakdown, and worst of all, a majority of these parents had continuously bad customer service when trying to repair/replace parts for the Mac.
