Overall, parents felt that their children were safe in the five-point system provided on the Tender, although there were a few complaints that the straps aren't quite as secure as they could be. Specifically, one parent noted that her kids could squirm out of the straps, and another was upset to see that her twin newborns were constantly slipping out of the straps.

With 90% rave reviews, the Tender XL is beloved for the fact that it's a tandem stroller and you can actually steer it, as well as the convenience of its single-press brake bar for the back wheels. Unfortunately, a few owners brought up some relevant complaints. First, it is difficult to get onto a curb with the underseat basket getting in the way. Secondly, one mother described a rather tortuous steering dilemma: the back is designed for the newborn (it fully reclines) and the front is designed for an older child, she found steering with her older child in the front nearly impossible, the entire body of the stroller would creak and shake, and eventually she just gave up trying. Still, most parents found the manueverability of this stroller to stand up strong to much of its tandem competition.

All in all, it's likely that the Tender should receive an A+ for sturdiness, but the reviewers have the final word. Despite the fact that many many of the reviewers have had their Tender for years with out failure or brakedown, a few incidents must be noted. Two parents experienced a lower standard of durability than what is to be expected from Peg Perego: (1) the hood of one of the canopies was continuously coming off, and (2) the two back wheels fell off within the first two outing with the stroller. It's probably safe to say these were flukes or issues with shipping.
