Stroller Ratings

The crux of our stroller ratings system is derived from the reality that neither the manufacturers nor a few parents are going to tell you the whole story...

That's why we only rate strollers with a minimum of 20 full-length consumer reviews (this is also a good indication of the general success of the stroller and the necessity to review it for other interested parents)

Basically, we compile every available bit of first-hand consumer data on a stroller (from blogs, reviews, and other sources) and systematically analyze this information via our standardized point system.

To create the report card, we defined and stream-lined all of the "stroller issues" every parent must consider before purchasing a stroller including:

  • general ease of use (folding, reclining, etc.)
  • the weight and bulk of the stroller
  • durability of the frame & components
  • maneuvering and smoothness of ride
  • how comfortable and safe the parents and child(ren) are when using the stroller

We refined these categories into the three overarching ratings: safety, convenience, and comfort. Then we take into consideration the relative importance of each of these ratings: we weight safety grades over convenience, which in turn, is weighted a bit more than comfort. Finally, we have a sum total, giving an overall rating for each stroller.
