Valco Runabout

CHILD SAFETY TOTAL GRADE: A-

A

Every reviewer felt that their child was securely and comfortably fastened into the Valco's five-point stroller harness system.

maneuvering
positive reviews
B+

Parents unanimously gave the Valco Runabout positive reviews for how easily it maneuvered, although some parents who chose to add on the toddler seat reported that steering the Runabout became a bit precarious when taken over curbs and stairs as the toddler seat tends to make the stroller rather top-heavy. Also, a notable percentage of parents felt that the Runabout is a bit wide for easy steering through narrow store aisles, and is definitely more of an outdoor stroller. Finally, there was a single report of the Hex lock warping and causing the stroller to track severely to the left, although it was later repaired at no extra cost to the customer.

sturdiness
positive reviews
B+

Although the large majority of parents are quite happy with their Valco Runabout's apparent sturdiness and long-term durability, there are a few reports of durability issues: 1) one parent reported that after 10 months of light use the stroller chassis became disengaged from the front-wheel junction (and she experienced difficulty with customer service), 2) one report of a tire popping (which was quickly replaced free of charge), 3) multiple reports of the Hex-lock breaking/malfunctioning (allows the front wheel to lock in place for straight treks), but all were quickly replaced with new improved Hex locks free of charge.
