CONVENIENCE TOTAL GRADE: C+
weight
positive reviewsC
At 35 lbs, the Valco Twin Runabout is not a light stroller by any stretch, but it IS a twin stroller with all-terrain capacity and parents tended to complain about the Twin Runabout's weight only as much as they had to lift it in and out of their vehicles.
folding
positive reviewsC+
Although the majority of parents felt that the Runabout folding mechanism was quite easy to use and appreciated the quick-release tires (and subsequent decrease in the size of the overall stroller frame for stowing), most parents still felt that the chassis was really bulky and unwieldy to lift and stow. Additionally, one parent complained about the fact that during the folding-down process, she has to remember to collapse the napper bar, which just adds to already attention-intensive aspect of folding the stroller AND two little ones.
cleaning
positive reviewsB-
The Valco Twin Runabout fabric and plastic corrugated footrest are apparently dirt magnets which are NOT super-easy to clean, at least, not without busting out a toothbrush and a vacuum.
storage options
positive reviewsB-
Overall, parents felt that the storage provided on the Twin Runabout was not quite as satisfactory as could have been-- and were annoyed by the inaccessibility of the under-seat basket when a seat was reclined. These complaints are a bit unusual when you think about the fact that it's a rather large double stroller-- there should be loads of storage space! On the other hand, the Twin Runabout does comes with lots of fun little pockets for stowing things elsewhere, although some parents were still missing the cupholders.
